Ajay Jayaram and P V Sindhu advanced to the second round of the men's and women's singles competition respectively after notching up contrasting victories in the Japan Super Series in Tokyo in New Delhi.
The Indian challenge ended at the Japan Super Series following the defeats of shuttlers P V Sindhu and Ajay Jayaram in the women's and men's singles pre-quarter-finals respectively, in Tokyo, on Thursday.
All athletes and staff took daily PCR tests during their time in Japan and their movements were heavily restricted.
